Data entry: why we ask you for these parameters

To make the lenses with precision and comfort, we kindly ask you to enter the parameters necessary to right eye e left eye.

This is to avoid “weird” results (unwanted thicknesses, imprecise centering, suboptimal rendering) and to guarantee you an absolutely correct and consistent with your prescription.

1) First thing: Lens type

The Lens type It is the starting point: it defines the type of correction and makes subsequent choices available correctly.

2) Key details for prescription glasses

For each eye you will enter the main “clinical” values:

• PWR / SPH (Dioptres) (essential for all lenses)

• CYL (Cylinder) e AX (Asse)

• ADD (for varilux/bifocals only)

3) Interpupillary distance (IPD/PD): correct centration

The interpupillary distance it is essential for lens centring.

You can compile it in two ways:

• Enter a unique DP/PD valuethe system calculates automatically two equal half-distances.

• Insert the semi-distances (one per eye): recommended choice when available, because it allows a more precise centring. Calculations update automatically.

If you do not have DP/PD on your prescription, you can:

• measure it manually, or

4) Technical choices: visual quality and lens thickness

In addition to clinical values, certain choices determine what the lens will be like in practicethickness, aesthetics, distortion and comfort.

Lens thickness / Index (Refraction)

It is one of the most important points because it affects:

• thickness and weight of the lens (especially with medium-high dioptres)

• aesthetic yield (cleaner lens, less visible edge)

• visual qualityA correctly chosen index helps to reduce undesirable effects and maintain a more natural appearance.

In short: choosing this parameter well helps to avoid lenses that are “too thick” or unappealing, and reduces the risk of dissatisfaction.

Other technical choices (depending on the lens)

• Lens material

• Surface treatments (e.g. anti-reflective, anti-scratch, etc.)

• Properties and colours, Shading, Special functions

• Pupillary height (SE): useful information for even more precise centring, when available.

Prescription and extra communications: maximum protection

Although it is not essential, we recommend that you upload a photo or a PDF of the prescriptionallows us to carry out a cross-check and evaluate the technical compliance of the entered data, so as to work accurately and offer you maximum protection.

Why is pupillary distance (PD) important?

Pupillary distance (PD) refers to the pupillary distance. This is a fundamental measurement for glasses, as it determines the position of the optical centre of the lenses.
